Mick Aston is an English archaeologist and television presenter. He is best known for his work on the Channel 4 television series Time Team, which he presented from 1994 to 2011. He is also a professor of landscape archaeology at the University of Bristol. Mick Aston was born on 1 July 1946 in Oldbury, West Midlands, England. He attended the University of Birmingham, where he studied archaeology and anthropology. He then went on to pursue a PhD in landscape archaeology at the University of Sheffield. Mick Aston has been involved in archaeological research and teaching for over 40 years. He has worked on numerous archaeological projects in Britain and abroad, including the excavation of the Roman fort at Vindolanda in Northumberland. Mick Aston is also a prolific author, having written or co-authored over 20 books on archaeology and landscape history. He has also written numerous articles for academic journals and popular magazines. Mick Aston has been a professor of landscape archaeology at the University of Bristol since 2000.
